Kernel Connection Warning in Standard Maple 10

The message "Kernel connection not accessible..." indicates that the GUI (maplew.exe) is not able to establish a connection with the kernel (mserver.exe). When Maple starts, the GUI connects to the kernel via Sockets on localhost. If this connection cannot be established you may get this message.

This connection is commonly blocked by firewalls which will block all Socket connections. It can also occur when the kernel is not able to establish a connection to the license manager (for the network client version).

Sincerely, Technical Support Maplesoft www.maplesoft.com/support

In practice it seems that waiting a few minutes (do something else) and returning, or even being patient while the connection is re-established (there is a time marker) will get Maple going again.
