Summary:The business analyst is responsible for developing domain and business process expertise and convey this in the form of epics and user stories translated from requirements to the delivery team.
He/she supports the translation of the functional and nonfunctional requirements articulated in the Product Requirements Document into the various levels of user stories that express the business needs of the customer into the product backlog for successful project delivery.
Responsibilities :
• Responsible for capturing the voice of the customer to drive business process definitions and product needs.
• Responsible for developing domain and business process expertise and conveying this in the form of epics and user stories translated from requirements to the delivery team. – reword more succinctly.
• Responsible for translating business needs into epics and user stories.
• Ensure that the features in the User Stories are expressed in a way that all members of the Scrum team, extended Scrum team, and stakeholders clearly understand the user stories and how they fit into the product backlog.
• Ensure that the Scrum team, at tollgate (TG) 3, understands the product that they are building.
• Sign off on the product requirements document (PRD) during the product requirements review (PRR).
• Collaborates with the Product Owner to articulates the features described in the PRD to Epic user Stories by TG2.
• Facilitate the breakdown of the Epic User Stories into “Sprint Sized” User Stories by TG3.
• Work directly with product manager and / or customers to define scope and value for new developments.
• Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize scope for the releases.
• Responsible for creating, managing and grooming Product and Release Backlogs.
• Responsible for ensuring Scrum team consensus with the product manager, release manager and scrum master that the highest value features and User Stories are prioritized to the top of the Product and Release Backlogs.
• Responsible for ensuring that non-functional requirements exist and are prioritized alongside the functional user stories in the Product and Release Backlogs.
• Responsible for managing and grooming the “Feature Pipeline” backlog.
• Facilitate backlog reviews and scope estimation activities with the Scrum team.
• Provide support the Scrum team by being cognizant of the minimum marketable feature set and the bigger picture for the current release during scope considerations.
• Define user story acceptance criteria with input from developers, customers and testers.
• Support the Product Manager in developing the product roadmap of future features and enhancements and driving improvements to the product architecture and design.
• Maintain leading edge understanding of technologies and industry trends relevant to the application via training, webinars, on-line journals, Trade Shows and User Groups.
• Support the business to provide subject matter expertise on key customer bids, projects, and issue resolutions.
• Drives process definitions and improvements for the business analyst role as well as for agile development in general.
• Validates that test scenarios meet the feature acceptance criteria and customer expectations.
• Responsible for the maintenance and quality of the user stories in Rally.
• Responsible for ensuring the Product Manager or documented alternate is available to accept or reject user stories once they have met the definition of done.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science / Engineering, industrial automation and related Engineering
• Experiences in Wind condition monitoring and Agile requirements/story planning
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a business analyst role
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development environment
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an Agile team environment.
